Great to be Back

March 23rd, 2010 by jbrou

Hope everybody had a great Spring Break

I wanted to get an update out about where we are at so far. We are closing ground on getting all teachers to complete there hours needed in order to use the funds allocated to them by the T3 Grant. I have really seen a lot of technology use lately and applaud each and every one of you. The Math/Computer lab is being used almost constantly; The English COW, as well as the Math COW are being used a lot as well.

WebQuests, presentations, student response systems, animations, and creation of small videos have all been done well. We are accomplishing a lot.

Here are the 2 main websites that most, if not all, of this information is going out to:
http://t3express.ning.com/
http://t3grant.wetpaint.com/

Both have a lot of information. The ning.com site is where all three schools can collaborate, communicate, and explore what each district/curriculum/teacher is doing. Feel free to join the T3 Express. The wetpaint.com site is the main one for the T3 Grant as a whole, with a lot of information about the T3 Grant.

This week we are going to finish getting all the T3 Teachers their blogs set up, and maybe a teacher webpage as well (for those that don’t already have one going). We are going to continue to knock out the lessons and hours required. The computer lab will be open for students after school on Monday and Wednesday, as well as maybe Thursday this week.

Thanks.

Document Collaberation

February 2nd, 2010 by jbrou

Collaberation between Students on projects, assignments, etc have lead me to Google Docs. In my experimenting , I have found it of great intrest. It looks as though it will solve several issues…Publishing, getting students to work on assignments at othe than school times, as well as a multiple of peer checking, an group work.

The caveat is the student will need a email address.   I think we have an in house email solution in the works… looks like were moving forward twards a new goal of reaching more people in the community with technology.

Something found

January 26th, 2010 by jbrou

In my searching for an online  student publishing site that was managable, content safe, and free for students to upload there content as well as view, I came across several places that are of interest.

ReadPrint a collection of 8000 plus free online library.

Poetry Contest at Poetry.com a place were submissions have a chance a winning cash…what a great incentive.

Onword with my search. May some type of RSS/Epub/Ebook type thing pop up on the internet radar.
