Our students are currently doing a unit on Romeo and Juliet. We read each act and discuss both the literary elements and events. Then we watch those scenes to help the students gain a better understanding of the content. Next, each class has picked a theme to create a funny comic book based on the storyline. Each group must write a brief summary and make a comic strip on their assigned scene. These projects are completed in our new ELA computer lab. The students really seem to be enjoying this unit and putting ownership into the comic book assignment.
